Transneft Central Siberia was a general sponsor of the second field practicum for school students on Earth sciences “Learn and Protect the Nature”, conducted as part of the regional Festival of Tourism and Regional Studies “My Small Motherland”.
The practicum was conducted in September in the territory of Dzerzhinets children's holiday camp in settlement Anikino of Tomsk Region. The main organizers were Tomsk State University, Regional Centre of Additional Education and a number of organizations and departments of Tomsk and Tomsk Region, the general sponsor was Transneft Central Siberia.
The field practicum is conducted for the purpose of popularization of geographic and ecological knowledge, as well as for involvement of students to area studies of natural objects and acquaintance with the methods of field studies.
In 2016 the practicum included 22 teams – more than 110 participants from Tomsk, Seversk, Verkhneketsky, Krivosheinsky and Tomsky Districts and Berdsk of Novosibirsk Region. The length of the field practicum route was equal to about three kilometres. During the practicum the school students studied cuttings of rocks and minerals, measured river flow rate, worked with geological devices and maps, which allowed them to show high level of theoretical knowledge in the sphere of history, botany and ecology.
Transneft Central Siberia implements consistent policy in the sphere of ecology with observation of the requirements of environmental laws and international standards of the ecological and energy management systems. One of the aspects of the enterprise’s activities in this direction is participation in conducting ecological events for the youth in Tomsk Region.
