Date of publication: 17 September 2019

Transneft Central Siberia’s team has taken part in the 4th championship of Tomsk Region in sports garbage collection.

11 teams representing Tomsk Region companies of the oil and gas industry, energy supply, chemical industry, education and science took part in cleaning of the Tomsk Lagerny Sad garden. Within an hour, the teams collected and sorted the garbage. In total, about 800 kilogrammes of garbage were collected.

The purpose of the event is to draw attention to the problem of environmental pollution, and to give employees of large industrial enterprises the opportunity to contribute to the cleaning of municipal parks, squares and forests. Participation in such campaigns is an important part of the implementation of Transneft Central Siberia’s environmental policy.

For reference:

For the first time, the sports garbage collection championship was held in Tomsk on June 8, 2016 as part of an environmental week. 11 teams participated, having collected over one and a half tonnes of garbage in an hour. The event was organised and conducted by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Tomsk Region and Oblkompriroda together with the Japan Federation of Sports Garbage Collection. In 2016, Transneft Central Siberia’s team received a special prize for careful garbage sorting.
