Transneft Central Siberia Sums Up Results of Occupational Health Efforts in 2019

Transneft Central Siberia has summed up its occupational health performance, which was the theme of the year at Transneft in 2019.

Last year, the Company allocated more than RUB 121 million for the implementation of occupational health measures. Much attention was paid to providing the Company with up-to-date protective equipment, special clothing and footwear, as well as devices for safe work. During 2019, 198 engineering and technical specialists underwent theoretical and practical training in the field of occupational health. A dedicated working conditions assessment was conducted at 889 workplaces.

Transneft Central Siberia successfully passed a certification audit for the compliance with the BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) international standard.

In 2019, measures were taken to update pedestrian paths, crossings, as well as to install informational, warning, mandatory, prohibitive and auxiliary signs at the facilities of the Parabel Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate. The works will continue in 2020.

As part of the Year of Occupational Safety, Transneft Central Siberia held the following themed events: the Best Occupational Safety Business Unit contest, the Year of Occupational Safety contest, a youth science and technology conference under the Year of Occupational Safety motto, as well as offsite meetings with the personnel of the Company’s business units. The title of the Best Occupational Safety Business Unit was received by the personnel of the oil pumping station (OPS) of the Tomsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate. The results of the best children's drawings and photographs contests were also summed up.

As part of the themed year, open occupational health lessons were organised in schools in Tomsk Region to promote basic rules of occupational health and safety, which will help to protect life and health both at work and at home.

New technology implementation, modernisation of operating facilities and professional development of OHSE specialists are carried out with the aim of ensuring safe working conditions at the workplace and precluding injuries.
