Transneft Central Siberia is preparing its operating facilities for reliable operation in the spring and summer fire danger period.
The goal is to ensure safe operation of the trunk pipeline system and uninterrupted oil transportation under fire-dangerous weather conditions.
To avoid the risk of forest and dry grass fires, the personnel of the company’s branches are clearing up the protected zones along the oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and high-voltage lines, removing trees and shrubs in accordance with the required standard distances. The specialists are also taking care of the renewal of fire lines around the OTP line and the operating facilities.
Great attention is paid to checking the condition of fire water sources (tanks and reservoirs), firefighting, motor and all-terrain vehicles. The specialists will examine the operability of tank cooling systems, and availability of sufficient emergency firefighting equipment, vehicles and gear for the firefighting crews. About 300 pieces of firefighting equipment will be tested.
Additional fire safety and occupational health briefs will be held at all the facilities using the necessary personal protective equipment. Emergency response drills will be organised in order to maintain the high level of industrial safety and emergency response skills.
In addition to that, the interface plans to ensure that efficient cooperation with local EMERCOM units is thoroughly worked through in the areas adjacent to the pipelines’ protected zones.
The result of the set of measures taken at Transneft Central Siberia’s facilities will be drawing up a certificate of readiness of the сompany for stable operation in the spring and summer fire danger period.
